So Much Snow

Let me just say that a despite all the snow we get in Colorado, a snow day is not an easy thing to get. I'm talking a snow day like a day where the roads are closed down and the schools get canceled. Why are these so hard to get in a place with so much snow? Because snow plows hit the streets, people turn on their 4-wheel drives, put on their winter jackets, and problem solved; everyone can go to school and to work.

My school hasn't had a snow day in years, even with a good eight inches on the ground. Last year, the big snow storms came when we were already on spring break, so no extra snow days there.

So you know it must be a lot of snow, and I mean a lot, for the entire school district to close down for two days! I know I've been enjoying my Wednesday and Thursday of sleeping in, seeing movies, and watching the snow pour down. We got about 10-12 inches over night! And in October nonetheless.

Staring out my bedroom window at one o'clock on this perfect Thursday, all I see is an endless blanket of white, and I think I would be in US Society right now. But instead, I'll go make a snow man. So I think that snow days in Colorado are hard to get, but are amazing when they finally come. And that's Dustin's View.

  1. I agree completly, they are the most relaxing thing imaginable. Weekends just never seem as enjoyable as an unexpected day off in the middle of the week where u can just let peace sap ur soul with absoltley no homework, no responsibilys, just the perfect white snow outside and warm blankets inside. And who doesnt love snow in the first place? Snow days are so rare and I have no idea how they decide if it is one. But I hate going to school in the cold, so snow days, again, are like heaven on earth. Thank you for the snow. thank u for the day off.
